You may have heard the rumblings from the Year 6 classroom… Was it a volcano?
Sort of. Our students have been busy learning about the geological changes and effects on the earth as a result of earthquakes and volcanoes. In order to truly understand the structural makeup of a volcano and its many elements, students have been actively seeking out the answers and constructing their very own paper-mache volcanoes.
In addition to this hands-on and messy activity, the students have enjoyed writing a newspaper report about a fictional earthquake.
Take a look at some of our progress shots… some of these volcanoes are cones and some are stratovolcanoes!
