STEM’s ‘A Night of Light Jazz’

Miss Angela Brittain | Head of STEM

Term 2 sees our Year 9 and 10 STEM students creating a light show for Jumpers and Jazz.

Students have researched what Jazz is, chosen a design for a light installation, and are now in the process of constructing their design.  The ‘prototyping’ phase has been vital for students to think through design challenges and make changes if necessary.

Once construction is finished, students will move to the programming stage where they will design a sequence of lights for a Jazz tune. The whole show will be broadcast on an FM station so that people can drive in, park, tune to the station on their car radio, and watch the show.

Opening night for ‘A Night of Light Jazz’ will be on July 15, and the community is invited to come and see the final product.  There will be four nights of ‘A Night of Light Jazz’ – July 15, 16, 22 and 23.
