Equestrian Report

From the 16th to 18th of April, SCOTS PGC held its first ever Equestrian Camp, commencing with a well-attended BBQ at the Chapel on Thursday night.  Thank you to Mr Thompson, Mrs Bohm and John for arranging such a wonderful evening to start us off.

At camp, we offered training in Dressage, Show Jump, Cross Country, Campdrafting, Led, Show Horse and Utility.  We had 34 riders attend from as far as the Sunshine Coast and west to Mungindi.  Some students boarded with Cahal and Alexis in Hawkins House, giving them a taste of what it is like to be a SCOTS boarder.  Thank you Cahal and Alexis.

The weekend would not have been such an outstanding success without the experience and skills of our dedicated in-house and visiting instruction team.

Mr David Finch – Show jumping

Ms Hillary McGregor- Potter – Dressage

Mrs Felicity Burton – Campdrafting

Mrs Sally Keable – Led, Cross Country and Show Jump

Mrs Beck Poole – Rider Biomechanics and Horse Management and

Ms Grace Buchholz – Show Horse, Presentation and Utility.

Thank-you team.  All riders external to SCOTS commented on how wonderful our Instruction Team is, which should make us pause to realise how lucky we are here at SCOTS to have access to this kind of high class tuition on an ongoing basis.  The words to our visitors when discussing our quality training team, of “No this is normal” became the catch cry of the camp.

And last but not least thank you to our Parent Group and Mr Wilson, who while not asked, stepped up once again to make this event run so smoothly.

Hope you enjoy the happy snaps of the weekend below and Good Luck to all our Competitors travelling to Cambooya Draft and the Fairholme Interschool event this weekend.
