Mrs Mel Bellingham | VET Coordinator
Recently, seven of our more agriculturally minded Year 10 students had the opportunity to be part of a three day Ag Inspirations Tour. The tour, arranged by Ag Force, the Department of Education, Small Business and Training and Growcom, provided high school students with the opportunity to experience a variety of occupations within the Agricultural Industry.
Along with students from three other local schools, we toured various agricultural enterprises in and around both Warwick and Stanthorpe that included: Wickham Farms, Warwick Equine VET, Ashbern Farms, Qld College of Wine Tourism, Condamine Apiaries and DAF Hermitage Research Station. Unfortunately, COVID-19 restrictions did limit the amount of ‘hands-on’ experience the students were able to participate in, but at each location, we were given a tour of the operation and given an insight into the many and varied occupations that make up the Agricultural Industry.
