Adopt a Boarder

Don’t forget about our Adopt a Boarder Weekend which is set to take place next weekend.  The Adopt a Boarder Program is where day student families are invited to host a boarder from their child’s year group on weekend leave.  One of the many benefits of attending a boarding school is the opportunity to develop and forge strong friendships between students and potentially, families.

From a boarder’s perspective, to be able to experience a weekend away from boarding, with a family far smaller than the large number of brothers or sisters in boarding, is not just a welcome change, it is the chance to immerse themselves in a new family.  There doesn’t have to be anything special organised for the weekend; it is often the closeness of being included that is embraced.

Adopt a Boarder weekend will be on Friday 14 August until Sunday 16 August.  The length of time can be adjusted to be after Saturday sport if necessary.  We invite families with students in Year 6-12 to host a boarder for that weekend.  If you’re interested, please contact the relevant Boarding House leader to organise.
