Uniting Church Leaders & Teachers Service
Last Sunday, 11th February, a large congregation gathered at The Uniting Church in Warwick, at the invitation of the Reverend Ansie Liebenberg and her husband, our Chaplain, the Reverend Willie Liebenberg. The occasion was to celebrate and recognise the contribution of Student Leaders and Teachers in our lives. Eleven SCOTS Prefects, many parents and several teachers represented the College and we were all encouraged to throw ourselves, body and soul, into the service.
It was indeed a joyous and very happy occasion, with the entire congregation involved in the proceedings at one time or another. This was definitely NOT an old fashioned, ‘stuffy’ service! There was time for reflection and also time to chuckle, and even laugh out loud, enjoying each other’s company and the messages being delivered.
I think I can speak for all the SCOTS attendees in saying we were humbled and touched by the words of Tracy Dobie, Mayor of the Southern Downs, and Ansie, and we hope this service will perhaps become an annual, or even more frequent event!
