SCOTS PGC Cattle Club Show Success
A small but dedicated group of beef cattle enthusiasts from the SCOTS PGC College Cattle Club have been competing on the local show circuit with a great deal of success. Briar Densley has been a stand out in Junior Beef Cattle Judging and took out top honours at the Killarney Show on the weekend and placed 2nd to fellow SCOTS PGC Student Bridie Shouter at the Clifton show. In the paraders competition, SCOTS PGC experienced a clean sweep at Killarney show with Ronan Hullock 1st , Bridget Christensen 2nd and Briar Densley 3rd in the 15-25 yrs age group. Younger member Thea Diack has also competed strongly in the 12-15 years age group taking out a number of minor placings.
Bridie, Briar and Ronan will all be eligible to compete in the Darling Downs Regional Finals to be held at the Killarney Showgrounds in early June. If they win at this level they will qualify to represent our region at the State Finals at this year’s Brisbane Exhibition. According to the Cattle Club coach and Agriculture Teacher, Mr Peter Collett, any three of these students have the talent to win at regional and state. In fact, he sees just as much potential in these students as many of the previous students he has taught that have qualified to judge and parade at national level.
