It was all class for the Class of 2018 on Saturday night at the annual Year 12 formal, The Cardinal Ball. The afternoon and evening were full of tradition and glamour starting with a Garden Party hosted by Girls’ Boarding in the beautiful grounds of their Locke Street campus, the traditional group photograph on the stairs to Glenbrae House then off in their chosen mode of transport to twilight arrivals at the transformed Des Davey Dining Hall.
Year 12 students and partners enjoyed a formal father/daughter and mother/son dance before farewelling parents, family and friends. The group including some Year 11 partners and captains from other Warwick high schools enjoyed a delicious meal and danced the night away.
No sooner had the Year 12 Cardinal Ball ended than the home fires were stoked up at the Osborn Ranch, as Dayle and Jason, parents of Sophie, hosted more than half of the Year group for a party that went on literally until dawn’s early light.
A great time was had by all, and that includes the ‘older’ Osborns, McGahans, Gilmores, Hegertys and Simmers family members, keeping a watchful eye over the Leavers flock.
An absolute highlight was gathering around the fire drum specially made by the very talented Jack McGahan, personalised with the names of every Year 12 student. Rumours that it was filled with QCS textbooks are unfounded………they needed them for this Tuesday and Wednesday!
